Sumitomo Warehouse Europe GmbH (SWE) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Sumitomo Warehouse Co., Ltd.(SWC). In 1899,SWC was established in Osaka, Japan, as a core company of the Sumitomo Group and SWC has been reputed to be the first prestigious name in the logistics industry for over 100 years. Its business domain has widely enlarged to harbour transportation, international transportation service, real estate development, leasing, and so on.

SWE was initially launched as Sumitomo Warehouse Germany in 1982 for the purpose of SWC’s international integrated services. Its name was changed into Sumitomo Warehouse Europe in 1986, and steady business development has been marked in Europe for over 20 years.

• 1985.12 London branch office open
• 1990.05 SWC group acquired 25,000 m2 land and 4500 m2 warehouse complex
• 1992.04 Antwerp office commenced own warehouse operation in Wilrijk
• 1993.11 Antwerp office deployed another 7500 m2 floor surface warehouse
• 2002.11 Antwerp office total operational space extended up to 22,200 m2
